Chairman of Enyimba FC of Aba, Felix Anyansi Agu was tongue-tied over the scrappy 1 – 0 win against Nasarawa United after match Day 4 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
It is the first maximum points for the team on the UJ Esuene Stadium turf this season after Heartland of Owerri grabbed a point off the hosts penultimate week 2.
The Enyimba boss watched with awe as his boys fluffed several chances until former Nigeria U – 23 winger, Dimgba Stanley flicked in a sizzler in the 79th minute.
A moody Anyansi rebuffed several overtures by Sports journalists to comment on the club’s shaky start of the NPFL season ahead of the more tougher Confederation  Cup opponents barely weeks away to the flag-off of matches on continental scene.
Enyimba will enter the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup at the Round of 32 after being given a bye for the Preliminary Round in the draws

The People’s Elephant will face the winner of the preliminary tie between Guinea club Hafia and the representative of Benin Republic in the Round of 32, with the winner then advancing to the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage.
The Solid Miners from Nasarawa almost picked a point as Heartland while Enyimba was  goal – shy to the consternation of spectators and supporters as their kick and follow pattern were warded off by their lanky opponents at the rear.
It took a mass mobilization of the local Supporters Clubs of Rovers and Pelican Stars to ginger the hosting right granted the Aba side in Calabar for the much sought for maximum points to be garnered.
The coaches of Enyimba, Paul Aigbogun and Nasarawa, Kabiru Dogo respectively acknowledged the efforts of their boys in the keenly contested match.
”We were under pressure to get the three points to improve  our position on the League table and I thank my
boys for the effort as they tried their best,” Aigbogun remarked.
”Our game plan was to share the points hence I told my boys to be conscious of the defence, but well, that is football.
”Enyimba took the chance that came their way due to loss of concentration contrary to
our match plan, we are going back with the hope that we can win our next match at home against Rangers which is another big club” Kabiru Dogo explained after the match.
Enyimba will visit Port Harcourt for its next match against Rivers United according to match Day 5 fixtures.
