Inmates at Ilaro Prison in Ogun State had all the reasons to smile recently when Pega & Friends Foundation reconstructed water system inside the prison and donated other items.
The presentation formed part of the NGO’s commitment towards touching lives and restoring hopes to the needy and the less-privileged in society.
The visit afforded members of the foundation the opportunity to interact with the inmates and officials of the Prison.
The Founder of the Foundation  Prince Ekunola Gbenga, who performed the commissioning exercise of the water project and Presented other gift items to the the Officer in charge of Ilaro Prison Assistant Controller of Prisons Oshin Bamidele said the group was formed to help the less privileged and vulnerable in society.  We decided to do this water project to enable the inmates have a good  water; he said.
Ekunola said the foundation had engaged in charity activities since its establishment in 2010 where it had provided support and restored hope to many who had given up in life.
We have provided financial support by offering scholarships to some children from poor families, paid medical bills of others.
Gbenga indicated that the foundation had provided charity works, Medical Outreach, sensitisation and public advocacies, support for the windows, Aged, unemployed youths and health screening in rural communities.
The items were received by Assistant Controller of Prisons Oshin Bamidele, on behalf of the Prisons.  He expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture and called on other corporate organisations and philanthropists to emulate Pega and friends foundation.
Speaking earlier, Oshin lauded the foundation for the gesture and gave an assurance that the water system and the items would be judiciously used.
