President-Goodlucj-Ebele-Jonathan-August-2013-BellaNaijaFormer President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience , Gov Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Gov Nyisom Nwike and several deputy governors on Tuesday endorsed the re-election bid of Gov Seriake Dickson at the Samson Siasia Sports complex in Yenagoa.

 

 

Jonathan, who led others endorsed Dickson’s re-election bid said the governor remains the best candidate for the job and urged the people to support the governor for a second term.

 

Speaking at the event, Dickson expressed appreciation to former President for endorsing him for a second term, adding that the rally marks the official commencement of campaigns.

 

He said that Bayelsa was a predominantly PDP state with the party dominating the political landscape.

 

He said that the strength of PDP, was expressed in the fact that PDP had ruled the state for the past 16 years and produced 4 governors, all under the PDP platform.

 

He said that Bayelsa people have no room for APC.

 

“They in APC has no message for the people, they will lose and we will win, they boast that they have police and INEC, but we have you,do not be misled by their propaganda” he said.

 

He urged the federal government and its agencies to be professional in their duties to ensure a violence free election to usher in a peaceful election.

 

He boasted that PDP has a concrete record of performance and pledged the support of the people announced his joining the race for the December 5 polls.

 

He further pledged to run an issue based campaigns.

 

It will be recalled that Senator Emmanuel Paulker, Mr Reuben Okoya amongst others have collected and submitted the expression of interest form at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
