A Joint security guards will soon be put in place in Ebonyi State.

Governor David  Umahi disclosed this in Abakaliki while receiving the new commissioner of police for the state police command,Mrs Peace Abdallah.

Goernor Umahi,  who was full of praises for the  immediate past  commissioner of police in the state,Mr Maigari Dikko,said the aim was to ensure that his administration achieved  the needed peace in the state.

He said, “I am very impressed  with  the Nigeria police of today.There is nothing as good as helping people to resolve their differences.There is nothing good as honest and uprightness.”

The governor  pledged the commitment of his administration to fully partner the  police in the state to ensure a free-crime society,especially during the  ember months.

He described the posting of  Abdallah as an act of God,and promised to put traffic lights in the police barracks.

Governor Umahi aso directed the Commissioner  for Water resources,  Francis Orji,  to ensure that water ran  24 hours in the barracks latest by end of this month.

In her remark,the new commissioner of police ,appreciated Governor   Umahi for his   support for  the police and urged him not to relent.

She said the command  would depend on key stakeholders of the state and communities to succeed.

Abdallah said, “We are not up to 3000 policemen in Ebonyi state,it is evident that without the community we serve,we cannot succeed.

“We Will partner with the community by reaching out to the stakeholders in Ebonyi  State.”

Before the two spoke, they decorated the governor’s Aide de Camp, Mr Ogbonnaya Nwota, with his new rank of Superintendent of Police.
