The Edo State Football Association led by highly experienced sports  journalist, Frank Ilaboya, has added fillip to the questions being raised by administrators of the game and said that Edo Queens Chairperson’s, formerly known as Inneh Queens, Aisha Falode has the capacity to turn things around.

Ilaboya, who spoke at the weekend after the burial of top sports journalist, coach and administrator, Felix Osagie Okugbe, declared that going by the antecedents of the widely travelled sportscaster and administrator of note there cannot be a better person to re-position Nigeria Women’s football for regeneration than Falode.

“We have heard all the noise they have made about moving the game forward but the NFF under Alhaji Aminu Maigari, made a strong statement by appointing Falode, the Coordinator of all the Women’s national teams and I think its about time we ask her to lead the body proper for better direction, sponsorship and to return our women’s football to where it rightly belong not only in Africa but globally.

The national teams’ Coordinator has on her own refused to make a statement on her next move even as she agreed that Women’s football in the country requires urgent repositioning. “We are not saying those who are there now have not tried their best but it’s time to look forward and when the NFF releases relevant guidelines for all those interested we shall make a statement”, she declared.

Mama Sports as Falode is fondly called declared that to her the goal is for Nigerian women’s footbasll to grow not for desperation to lead anybody or group of persons. “But if the people or congress feels that I am capable who am I to reject a clarion call from our people?”.

Falode heaped praised on the U20 Women’s National team for overhauling their South African counterparts in the first leg, final round qualifier for the World Cup.” They have truly shown that they are the future of Nigeria’s Women‘s football”, she declared
