USIP is launching a program in which South Sudanese youth leaders come to Washington D.C. to be in residence at USIP for approximately four months.  The program is designed to contribute to young leaders’ development by giving them opportunities to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence that they can use for years to come.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about this project, please visit our website for detailed information about the opportunity and the application process.

USIP believes that supporting the next generation of leaders will help secure and sustain peace, security, and democracy in South Sudan.  During their time at USIP, youth leaders will focus primarily on a self-led research project relevant to conflict prevention, conflict management, peacebuilding and/or democratization in Sudan and/or South Sudan.  This will also be an opportunity for U.S. audiences to hear fresh perspectives on South Sudanese affairs and for South Sudanese youth leaders to gain more exposure to the U.S. and its institutions.

Submissions must be made via email and will be accepted no later than June 28, 2013.  All applications and inquiries should be sent to youthleaders@usip.org.
