Former Senate Committee Chairman  On Banking and Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District in the Seventh National Assembly, Sen. Bassey Otu, has formerly joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Otu, who joined the party in his Community Secondary School Ward, Adiabo, Odukpani Local Government Area of the state, was received by the ward and chapter chairmen as well as members of the state executive of the party along side thousands of his supporters.
He said Justice and fairness brought him to the Change Party.
He urged the political bigwig in the party from Odukpani local government to join forces with him to run the Peoples Democratic party out of governance in Cross River.
Otu commended President Buhari ‘s fight against corruption said what happened to Nigeria economy during the immediate past administration would be redressed by the present administration was out to clean up.
“President Buhari is  doing well in his fight against corruption and this is the only way to save this country because this is what I have been preaching over the years that too many people continue to take what belong to the masses.
“People cart away more than what they require, all of us are Nigerians and time waits for no one. Nigeria is blessed. If only we will allow the commonwealth of the country to trickle down to the people, there won’t be criminals all over as we have it today.
“But a situation when the few people  the whole commonwealth of the state and share it, then what we are seeing today is what we will see, so I am very very happy with President Muhammadu Buhari ‎in his fight against corruption .
“He is trying to put the economy right because the economy was totally in a mess and a Lot of people do not know. I am in a vantage position to say this because I was a chairman Senate committe on Banking and I know the debt of dearth ‎this contry country was plunged into and Buhari is trying to revive it which all right thinking Nigerians must support and give time to do ‎right.
“I think the main reason for me to leave PDP  was for me to seek justice, and I have seen it with the All Progressives Congress, because if a country must grow, there must be fairness and equity in all that we do because if we don’t have justice in place, we will go no where.
“I believe that justice must be the nexus of all that we do to get to move the country forward. The president has been wonderful! In fact in this part of the country we have no reason to hold back our support.
“For us, within the shortest period he has stayed in office,he has done wonderfully well for the people of cross river state and Nigeria,” he said.
