The Cross River Government has so far spent N100 million to enable Tinapa Business Resort host about 9,000 delegates during the forthcoming Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) conference in Calabar.
Mr Bassey Ndem, the Managing Director of the resort, stated this when he spoke with our correspondent in Calabar on preparations for the conference.
He said the management of the resort would always remain grateful to Gov. Liyel Imoke “for his continued assistance to Tinapa Business Resort.”
Ndem said the N100 million was spent “to fast tract the replacement of our massive air conditioning units which will guarantee the comfort of 10,000 guests.
“Indeed the gesture has empowered us to play host to the 9,000 strong NBA delegates to the conference taking place from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1 this year at Tinapa.
“The emporium is the only facility that can host 10,000 people in a covered air conditioned arena,’’ Ndem said.
He also said that Tinapa management regarded what he called a healthy synergy of consistent interventions by Imoke as commendable.
Ndem said this represents a “clear indication of the commitment to ensure that the resort attained its corporate dream”.
He said Tinapa management’s dream is to become the number one preferred business destination in Nigeria.
Ndem said that similar interventions by Imoke in the past had enabled the Tinapa Lakeside Hotel management to generate N99 million in just one month.
