Governor David Umahi has described as misrepresentation of facts, reports by the media that fire gutted the Accounts department of the Government.
Umahi, who briefed journalists after the South-East Governors Forum in Enugu on Sunday, said an “overused airconditioner” had a minor surge on Friday morning which was immediately contained by vigilant workers.
He also said the South East governors had resolved to meet the Federal Government and other relevant authorities over the numerous challenges confronting the South-East , including the prolonged detention of IPOB leader, Mr Nnamdi Kanu.
The Ebonyi governor who is also the chairman of the forum listed other issues that engaged the attention of the governors to include, ecological problems of the zone, security concerns and challenges of power supply.
He added that the governors equally agreed to meet with all stakeholders of South-East to discuss all issues that are of interest to the people.
The governors also drafted two representatives from each of the five south east states into the economic committee of South-East governors and mandated them to immediately meet and fashion out a roadmap towards the economic integration of the zone.
The meeting which was the second since Umahi was elevated to preside over the South-East governors forum was attended by four out of the five governors in the zone.
