Nigeria’s ambassador to the United States, Professor Adebowale Adefuye has won the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award for International Service. The Award will be conferred on the Ambassador on Sunday, January 19, 2014 during the 23rd Annual International Salute to the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The ceremony will hold at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel, Washington DC from 8.45 am.
News of the award was contained in a letter signed by Madeline Y. Lawson, Chairperson of the International Salute Award Committee, organizers of the event.
The King Legacy Award is an annual event aimed at sharing Dr. King’s legacy both at home and abroad aimed at bringing together a broad segment of the International community to reinforce the importance of continuing the works of the late Civil Rights icon.
