The Forum of South-South Governors has restated their demand for restructuring and 13 per cent derivation from the Federal Government.

The forum restated the demand after members one day meeting on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson of the Forum, Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, said after the meeting that their demand was in the spirit and clamour for restructuring in line with true federalism.

He said that the forum also demanded for a 13 per cent derivation from the  one billion dollar withdrawn from the excess crude account by the Federal Government for security.

He said that their demand was in accordance with constitutional provision.

The Governor, however, stated that the forum was not against the amount withdrawn by the federal Government to fight insecurity in Nigeria.

Governor Dickson noted that the forum also threw its weight behind devolution of powers among the federating States.

He stressed that the forum called for the withdrawal of a bill on the management and administration of  Water resources in the National Assembly.

Those in attendance in the meeting included, Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Gov. Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and Dickson of Bayelsa.
