Mr Nsima Ekere, All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom has assured that he will run a government based on truth and transparency if voted into power in 2019.

Ekere made the remark during the solemn assembly to kick start his governorship campaign with the theme, “My Help Cometh from the Lord” held in Uyo.

The APC governorship candidate also said that he would not be “wolf in sheep clothing” if the people of Akwa Ibom gave him the opportunity to serve as them as governor in 2019.

Ekere warned APC supporters in the state to eschew violence throughout the period of campaign, stressing that the Leader of the party in the country has urged candidates and supporters to be law abiding.

“We shall run a Government based on truth and transparency. We will not be wolf in sheep clothing. The days of hypocrisy is over in this state, go to campaign make sure you maintain peace. Respect the law and eschew violence throughout the campaign period,” Ekere said.

He said the solemn assembly was organised to seek the face of God before the campaign proper kick started, noting that only God gives victory.

He also urged Akwa Ibom people to come out on Feb. 16, 2019 to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC National Assembly candidates.

He also urged eligible voters in the state to come out on March 2 and vote for Ekere and all APC House of Assembly candidates in Akwa Ibom.

He assured the people of Akwa Ibom that God would enthrone APC in the Federal and State come 2019.

“Today, we came to acknowledge that all power belong to God. We came to seek the face of God to give us victory,” he said.

Ekere, who used the opportunity to condemn the crisis in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, urged all the parties involved in the crisis to do everything possible to resolve the crisis immediately.

Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Mr Ini Okopido, said that APC government would reposition Akwa Ibom come 2019.

Okopido called for spirit of oneness among all APC candidates and supporters, stressing that APC must work collectively to win the forthcoming general elections.

He said: “We have moved a step forward and we have taken our request to the throne of God and He will not forsake us.”

In his homily, the officiating minister, Apostle Patrick Jerome, who took his sermon from Psalm 121, urged the governorship candidate to look unto God where his help comes.

He appealed to all politicians to ensure violence free elections as campaigns flagged off.

Goodwill messages were received from the three senatorial district of the state while dignitaries present at event included, Sen. James Akpanudoedehe, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Sen. Nelson Effiong, Group Cpt. Sam Enwang (rtd), Mr Umana Okon Umana, Atuekong Don Etiebet as well as Mr Dan Abia (Snr) who contested the guber primaries with Ekere.

Similarly, Mr Nsima Ekere, the Governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, has said the party has all it takes to win the 2019 elections.

He gave the assurance in Uyo on Monday when he addressed the inauguration of “Nsima Ekere Campaign Committee” which has Group Cpt. Sam Ewang (rtd.) as its Chairman.

The former deputy governor said the party had moulded into an election machine with every politician of repute in the state its fold. He said APC is poised to win, adding that the party is marching to victory in 2019.

Ekere said that it would be the first time that the people of Akwa Ibom would be voting APC, adding that across the state, people had expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of PDP.

Ekere commended the committee members on their inauguration, urging them to begin work immediately as they would not be required to sleep until after the election in March 2, 2019.

“I congratulate you on your inauguration as a member of this committee. This is the first time that we will be voting APC. Akwa Ibom people are saying they are not satisfied with the performance of this administration. APC in Akwa Ibom has been moulded into an election machine.

“We have all it takes to win the election. Every politician of note in this state is in APC.  We are poised to win and we are matching to victory,” Ekere said.

In his acceptance speech, the party’s Campaign Chairman, Group Cpt. Sam Ewang (rtd), said also assured that APC would win the 2019 elections in Akwa Ibom. Ewang, who urged APC supporters to eschew violence, charged members of the party to be preachers of peace.

He urged everyone in the committee to be committed to the fact that the party would win the elections. He also appealed to them to imbibe the spirit of opposition in the state, adding that people of Akwa Ibom have accepted the APC.
