Whale hacked by villagers after being trapped in shallow waters
Villagers descended on a whale trapped when it missed its way to the Opokuma sea area in Nigeria’s Bayelsa state and hacked it into bits for food. The incident happened yesterday, July 29, 2019 in the Brass area of Bayelsa state. According to our correspondent who visited the scene, as news of the trapped whale spread quickly, villagers trooped from all directions with axes, machetes and a power chainsaw to harvest meat and ended up scraping the trapped whale to the bones.
