Gov Seriake Dickson 0f Bayelsa and the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) on Friday expressed sadness following the death of foremost Ijaw Musician, King Robert Ebizimor.
 
Ebizimor lost his life on Friday in a  fatal road accident along the Warri-Sapele road in Delta.
 
Dickson, who expressing shock and disbelief over the death of the late Ijaw music icon announced that a state burial would be accorded to Ebizimort by Bayelsa government.
“The news of the death of King Robert Ebizimor in a ghastly motor accident was received with deep shock, sadness and total disbelief.
” King Ebizimor’s untimely death as a calamity and a monumental loss to Bayelsa State, the Ijaw nation and the people of the Niger Delta.” Dickson said

The Governor recalled with absolute nostalgia, his personal relationship with the legendary singer.
 
 According to the Governor, the departed music icon gave his all to the growth and advancement of culture of Ijaw nation through his songs.
Dickson appointed the Late music maestro as his Special Adviser on Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, on assumption of office.
He noted with satisfaction, the role Ebizimor played in promoting and propagating the cultural and traditional values of the Ijaw people, stressing that, his highly instructive and inspirational lyrics would be greatly missed by all true Ijaw men and women.

The IIYC, In a statement signed by its spokesman, Eric Omare, also bemoaned the death of the Ijaw musician.
 
 “To the IYC and the entire Ijaw Nation, the death of King Robert Ebizimor is a huge loss and marks the end of a chapter of musical exploit in promoting the Niger-Delta struggle.
 
“King Ebizimor used his music to hugely promote Ijaw struggle and created awareness all over Ijaw nation especially those at the hinterlands.
” He was one of the heroes of the Niger Delta struggle and the struggle would miss him.The IYC commiserate with the entire Ebizimor family of Sagbama Local Government Area and the government and people of Bayelsa State on the death of the Ijaw icon.
 
“They should take solace in the fact that while King Ebizimor may have departed this world, but the ideas he propagated during his lifetime would live forever ” the IYC stated.
The musician died while returning from Abuja to Bayelsa to perform in a thanksgiving party onSaturday in his hometown of Angalabiri in Sagbama Local Government Council of the State. It was gathered that his driver also died before help could reach them.

The music maestro had been bed ridden for months following his loss of a limb to diabetes earlier in the year and had recently returned from hospital in India.
