The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit instituted by Timi Alaibe’s challenging the candidacy of the current governor of Baylsa State, Duoye Diri as the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 2019 election in the State.
Alaibe who had earlier lost a similar suit at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal, is claiming to be the authentic candidate of the PDP and sought the courts to proclaim him so in order to supplant Diri as governor.
The Supreme Court however dismissed the case on Tuesday, on the ground that it was a pre-election matter.
