Mass burial for the victims
Four people including children were slaughtered while over a dozen houses were burnt down by invading Fulani herdsmen militias during an attack on indigenes of Efale Doka Avong community in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State yesterday (Friday 17, 2020). Located along the Kaduna-Kachia Road, Efale Doka Avong community has been deserted by the survivors who along with other indigenous people of Southern Kaduna, have been decimated in repeated attacks by the Fulani militia.
A human rights activist and head of the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), Mr Emmanuel Onwubiko who revealed the attack with gory pictures of the decapitated bodies of victims as evidence on his Facebook page, regretted that the unprovoked attacks have continued unabated while the government and security agencies watched.
Onwubiko who noted that the relentless attacks and massacres of defenceless villagers in the area is meant to grab land by the attackers, described the resultant killings as a well planned act of genocide. “FOR THEIR LANDS THE ARMED HERDSMEN SLAUGHTER THEM…”, he wrote on his Facebook page.
