Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has released an exposure draft of the country’s Company Regulations

A release today by the CAC announcing the publication of the draft informed the public of its presence on the Commission’s website.

The release read: “In line with our earlier commitment to expose the Draft Regulation, pursuant to Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, the Regulation is now available on the Commission’s website.

“This is to invite all stakeholders and members of the general public to send their comment(s) on any aspect of the Regulation not later than Friday, 13th November 2020 to the email addresses below:

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Network of NGOs has reacted to the publication of the draft by calling on civil society groups to to seize the opportunity provided by the publication to contribute ideas towards making the much criticized regulations better.

“This is an opportunity for civil society organisations to shape the implementation of the Part F of CAMA through the Company Regulations”, the group noted in a statement made available to the press while urging individuals and organisations to use the opportunity so provided to review the document and send recommendations to the CAC at the designated email addresses.
