The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has ordered a speedy and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack on the men of the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) unit by officers of the Corps who are yet to be named.

The incident occurred at the Kugbo slope area of Abuja on Tuesday.

While the investigation is on-going on the matter, the Commandant General has temporarily suspended the officers involved, seized their vehicle, and detained the driver, and assured that everything humanly possible will be done to ensure that justice prevails in the case.

Mr Gana’s remark was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Aide, Ekunola Gbenga.

According to the statement, the Commandant General is apologizing to the management and men of VIO and assured them of the Corps maximum cooperation and support in discharging their constitutional duties.
