. As Nsirim Calls For Support for the Wike Administration
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has reaffirmed the closure ofCreek road in Port Harcourt to vehicular and human traffic
beginning frommidnight on Monday 4th of January to Saturday 9th January, 2021.
Governor Wike has also barred boat operators from using the Bonny -Bille Jettyduring the same period.
He stated this during inspection of the multi-million Naira ultra modernBonny-Bille jetty  on Sunday.
Governor Wike bemoaned the conversion of the dualised  Creek road to market by traders and the filthiness of the Bonny-Bille jetty that is due forcommissioning this Saturday.
The governor while addressing residents of the Bonny-Bille waterfront,explained that the State government will from Monday midnight close Creek roadand temporarily  shutdown  the jetty for a thorough  sanitationof the area.
Governor Wike , sternly warned that any trader or boat operator who dare toconduct any form of business along Creek road and the jetty, will face the fullwrath of the law.
The governor further  ordered the removal of all vehicles parked at the jetty and its surrounding environs.
He directed law enforcement agencies to ensure that the temporary closure ofCreek road and the Bonny-Bille, is enforced.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim has called on Rivers people to join hands with Governor Nyesom Wike to develop the State in 2021.

Governor Wike had in his new year message said,” Let us eschew the recriminations, turn a new page on the hatred that has kept us divided, forgive one another and together, work towards making our dear State the best place on earth to live, do business and bring up our children.”

Nsirim said the statesmanship exhibited by Governor Wike in the new year address is a commendable gesture.

He restated the Governor’s challenge to all well-meaning citizens to work together to overcome the road blocks to our progress and build a State that holds concrete promise of hope for the present and future generations.

The Commissioner noted that Governor Wike, has therefore, called for a new chapter of cooperation, togetherness and solidarity that would unleash our potentials on the development of our State.

According to him, the Governor’s ultimate goal is to better the lots of our people in all  sectors of the economy.

“There’s no goal we cannot achieve if we remain united, ” he added.

Nsirim stated that Governor Wike is determined to implement the NEW Vision development blueprint in all the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

He called on traditional rulers, elder statesmen, religious leaders, party chieftains and opinion leaders to break the barriers of partisanship to build the future that we all desire for our State.

“Those who demarket our State, remain our enemies and we must resist their antics, ” he stated.
