The Afro-Renaissance artiste, Mr Prince Richards on Monday said he has joined the list of trademark owners with GENG GENG LORD.

The young musician who announced the development in a statement said the effort is in a bid to bring global attention to the lost part of Afrobeat.

According to him, a lot is happening in the entertainment industry and his style and blend of music offered by the Geng Geng Lord brand will add flavour with his Afro spice.

“Every season awaits a king to ignite a new feel, a new vibe. That is why, I am known in entertainment circles as Uptown the MaskKing, the Geng Geng Lord is here, lightening up the clouds with this unique genre of music filled with rhythm, dance and vibe.

“For these reasons, afrobeat enthusiasts and fans alike crowned me the king of vibe and expression.

“The Maskking is bringing back the lost Afrobeat vibe, reigniting new passion and expression for our music and the aim is to make it part of ongoing history and keep the rhythms of the sound from fading.

“My inspiration is derived from the everyday happenings in the street. My recent album  “For your Head” for instance depicts  my philosophy in most of the songs like ‘No king for the Street’ ‘No Worry’ ‘Race’ ‘For your Head’ and a host of others.

“It is very gratifying that these songs have received rave reviews and mentions.

“When people ask why I am always wearing a maskn?. I laugh and smile most times, and then explain that the mask hides pains and bitterness, and is a symbol of social resistance.

“Though, it’s curious to see someone  always in the mask, people want to know who is behind the mask, whether he is fair, black or white, friendly, aggressive or loving.

“The colorful mask of the MaskKing represents the brightness of his soul, full of love and affection, when you listen and stream my music you will see it see it penetrate through your inner depths.

“This time to give a new meaning to life, time to resurrect the street from slumber with the spoken words,” he said.
