The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has presented certificates of recognition and staff of office to His Royal Majesty, Nyenwe Eli, Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim  and Amangada XI of Rebisi kingdom, His Royal Highness, Eze Anthony Worlu Akarolo.


HRM Nyenwe Eli Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, APITI of Rumueme kingdom of Obio /Akpor LGA (right) receives certificate of recognition as a 1st Class traditional ruler of Rivers State from the Hon Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Sir Soni Ejekwu (left).

The governor said the certificates of recognition and staff of office were presented to the two traditional rulers in recognition of their achievement of good governance and promotion of the welfare of the people of their respective kingdoms.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Soni Ejekwu, who represented the governor at a brief ceremony held at the palace of the Apiti of Rumueme, said the Rivers State government has officially recognised Nyenwe Eli, Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim as a first class traditional ruler.

“For the achievement of good governance and the welfare of the people of Rumueme kingdom in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, the  Governor Rivers State has recognised Apiti of Rumueme and occupant of the stool Nyenwe Eli Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim as  a first class traditional ruler in Rivers State.”

Similarly, the Commissioner who also presented certificate of office and staff of office to Amangada Rebisi XI, Eze Hon  Anthony Worlu Akarolo at his palace in Elekahia in Port Harcourt Local Government Area , said the State government has officially recognised him as a Second Class traditional ruler in the State.

“In the interest of good governance and welfare of the Elekahia  people and pursuant to Section 19 (1) of the Rivers State  Traditional Rulers Law No4 ,2015 , the Governor Rivers State has on the 11 of March graciously recognised the stool of Amangada Rebisi and the occupant  of that stool, His Royal Highness,  Eze Anthony Worlu Akarolo, the Amagada XI of Rebisi kingdom.”

His Royal Majesty, Nyenwe Eli Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Wike for according him and the people of his kingdom the honour.

In same vein, Eze Hon  Anthony Worlu Akarolo, commended the governor for issuing him the certificate of recognition and staff of office thirty two years after he was installed as Amangada of Rebisi XI.

“I am highly grateful. I was installed Amangada of Rebisi on the 27 March 1989. God has been on my side in spite of all odds. I thank the Governor who deemed it necessary to recognise my stool.”
