Following his collection of expression of interest and nomination form to contest the 2015 Presidential election, Nigerians in the Diaspora yesterday congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for heeding their earlier call on him to seek a second term as President of Nigeria

One of the strong leading diaspora voices and Washington based power broker, Paschal Mbawuike congratulated the President for his decision as a “historic day for our country Nigeria”
Mbawuike, a senior Vice President at Cohen and Wood International, a Washington based lobbying shop whose founder, Ambassador Herman Cohen is the Crown Prince of African Politics in Washington said “He is a trusted leader, a man we believe in and we call on all Nigerians to pray for him and support him.
“On a personal note, I will like to thank him for answering our call to run and govern our country for four more years.
“We are delighted and are sure that this will afford him the opportunity to complete the good works he started about four years ago.
“Most of us in the diaspora believe that he is the only leader that we can trust and believe in to move our nation forward and rule Nigeria at this critical moment”
He also assured that they will use their wide spread relationship and tentacles around the world to mobilize global support for his re-election
“I will also use this rare opportunity to thank the great Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Ahmed Mu’azu for his support for the President. I saw him as a great leader 16 years ago when he was introduced to me by the late Crown Prince of Kano Politics, Alhaji Abubakar Remi”
Mbawuke, while commenting on the global economic out-look with special reference to the price of crude oil on the international market, called on Nigerians not to nurse any fear since it is a global crisis that will soon fizzle away.
He expressed strong confidence that Nigeria possesses what it takes to overcome the crisis in the oil sector, adding that Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum Resources, is not only a quite achiever, but also an oil technocrat who is very conversant with the international politics of oil.
“In her, I find a political rock and a highly sophisticated observer”, he said.
He also commended President Jonathan for creating the new position of the Deputy Managing Director for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, adding that the decision will further strengthen the oil sector for better service delivery to Nigerians, adding that Mr. Oti is a great fit for the job and called on Nigerians to support him.
