MOSIEND Lauds Wike For N5bn Infrastructure Intervention In Nigeria Law School Yenagoa

The Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) on Tuesday hailed the Rivers Governor. Nyesom Wike for providing N5 billion worth facilities at Yenagoa campus of Nigeria Law School.


The recommendation is coming on the heels of the flag off ceremony of the construction of hostel blocks and the 1,500 capacity auditorium of the Law School campus.


Bayelsa was part of Rivers until 1996 when it was created as a state by Late Gen Sani Abacha.


The group said the gesture by the governor was a proof that Wike has a large heart and a lover of people of the Niger Delta across state boundries.

Kenedy Tonjo-West National President, the Chairman MOSIEND, who was represented by Taribolou Ogboriyo, Chairman of Central zone  noted that MOSIEND yearns for infrastructural and human capital development in  the Niger Deltan region.



“MOSIEND fully shares the ideals of Governor Wike who has developed infrastructure to a point where he is nicknamed Mr Project.


“And we are witnesses to the fact that Governor Wike’s drive for developmental projects knows no bound as he has crisscrossed into his sister state in Bayelsa to showcase the importance he attaches to education in the Niger Delta.


“MOSIEND is of the view that Gov Wike has distinguished himself as the Spokesman of the Niger Delta  and haven shown this level of concern to bridge the infrastructure gap outside his home state,” he said.




On the constitution of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC} board, MOSIEND noted that the issue was unnecessarily heating up the polity and threatening to destabilise the entire Niger Delta.



The group stated that the Constitution of the Board of NDDC is the responsibility of the President with advice from the Governors


“The importance of the appointment cannot be over emphasized, as it is the only prescribed legal body that can always be held accountable by the people of the Niger Delta”. He said.
