KINSHASA, Dem. Rep. of Congo (DRC) January 13, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa warmly welcomes the commander of U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), General David Rodriguez, during his visit to the DRC from January 12-14. During his brief visit to Kinshasa, General Rodriguez will meet with senior DRC political and military leaders, as well as meet with MONUSCO Special Representative Secretary General (SRSG) Martin Kobler. General Rodriguez’s visit is intended to recognize U.S.-DRC cooperation on advancing peace and security in central Africaand highlight U.S. support for DRC’s strong commitment to building professional and capable military forces.
