The Ijaw Diaspora Council (IDC) on Friday commiserated with Amb. Maureen Tamuno over the demise of her father Elder Clement Chepaka.

The deceased hailed from Agbabiri axis in Okirika Local Government Area of Rivers.

Tamuno is Nigeria’s High Commissioner for Jamaica, Haiti, Belize, and Dominican Republic.

In a condolence message to the bereaved diplomat signed by Prof. Mondy Gold, President of the IDC, the group expressed grief at the demise of the diplomat’s father.

“It is with our deepest sympathy that we send you this letter.

“On behalf of the Ijaw Diaspora Council (IDC), we send our sincere condolences and prayers on the passing of your dear father.

“Death leaves a “heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.

“Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you as you deal with your grief.

“While we may not understand your pain, we pray you find peace. May God give you, your siblings, and family members comfort and blessings during this sad time of loss and as you prepare for the funeral.

“We ask God to give you strength during this challenging time.

“The Christian belief is “to be absence in the body, is to be present in the Lord.” May God, grant you love, resilience, and grace and may he be with you always.  May you find peace knowing your father rests with our Lord. Amen,” IDC stated.
