The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi state Command has arrested an electricity Cable Vandal suspect, at Amachi in Izzi Local Government Area of the State.
Parading the suspect before news men in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital, the Commandant of the Corps, Terrumum Gbue said the suspect was arrested at Amachi, in Izzi Local Government Area of the state.
He said his command was intensifying efforts to arrested fleeing members of the gang.
Commandant Gbue noted that his command dispatched a crack team of his Operatives to the area, following distress calls by residents of the community, reporting the activities of Vandals in the area.
“On sighting our team, the Vandals took to their heels, but the vigilante in the area assisted us in arresting this”.
He condemned the activities of those who indulge in vandalisation of public property, and called for concerted efforts towards curbing the menace to save Nigeria’s economy from imminent collapse.
Gbue said his command informed is currently training no fewer than sixty six new officers, who would further further be trained by the Corps, to strengthen the operational capacity of the command.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Sunday Mbam has denied taking part in the dastardly act, saying was only contracted as a driver to convey the cables to a destination.
