Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan givA day after northern Emirs called for amnesty to be granted to members of the extremist group, Boko Haram and hours after Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan approved the constitution of a committee to implement an amnesty for the group, a bomb went off just a few meters from the palace of the Emir of Kano on Wednesday night. According to eye witnesses, the explosion occurred by the Kano Central Mosque located opposite the Emir’s palace.

Two suspected bombers allegedly orchestrated the explosion. One of the bombers who was apprehended by a mob after the explosion was lynched, while another accomplice was handed over to soldiers, who stormed the scene soon after the blast.

When reached for his reactions, the spokesman of the military Joint Task Force, Captain Iweha said that no casualties were recovered at the scene.

The explosion came on the heels of President Jonathan’s naming of a 26-member committee to work out an amnesty deal for members of the Islamic terrorist group known as Boko Haram.
