The family members of Chief Thirdman Lambert, the paramount ruler of Biokpnga in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa, have appealed for his unconditional release by his abductors.
One of his sons, Mr Idua Lambert, who made the appeal for his release, said the entire community had been anxious and worried about his safety and health condition.
He urged the security agencies to redouble their efforts to free the monarch, while also appealing to his abductors to release him unconditionally.
According to him, the entire community has been praying earnestly for the safe return of the traditional ruler, even as the development has dampened the mood of his subjects.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, said on Tuesday that efforts were being made to free the monarch.
Butswat said that the command swung into action immediately it received the report of his kidnap and was making progress in its investigations.
The whereabouts of the monarch had remained unknown after he was forcefully abducted and taken to an unknown destination by unidentified gunmen 13 days ago.
