Barely one week after the kidnap of two expatriates in Ogbia area of Bayelsa, the Police Command on Tuesday confirmed the kidnap of a female company executive in Yenagoa, sending distress signals to the business and investment community.
 
The kidnappers of the 2 Lebanese who cut short the lives of two policemen are yet to be apprehended.
 
According to a statement by Police Spokesman, Mr Asinim Butswat on Tuesday, obtained by our correspondent, the kidnappers were clad in military camouflage uniforms.
 
“Five unknown gunmen dressed in military camouflage uniforms, went to the premises of Seleyibo Multi-Global Co Ltd, at  Agbura, in Yenagoa LGA on Monday.
 
“They called the director of the company one Madam Martha Nestor Binabor, aged 48, outside the company’s gate for a talk.
 
“ Consequently, they forced her into an ash coloured Toyota Camry Car, Reg No. unknown, chasis No. JTDBE32K620105302, and drove to Otuokpoti Sand Dump  in Ogbia LGA.
 
“They set the Toyota Camry Car ablaze, took the victim into a waiting speedboat and sped off to an unknown destination.
 
“The Marine Police, JTF, Anti Kidnapping unit  has been alerted. A massive manhunt has been launched to rescue the victim and arrest the abductors.
 
“Investigation is already ongoing,” The Police statement read in part.
 
Bayelsa Police Command on June 25  had rescued two expatriate construction workers abducted by unknown gunmen in Ogbia Local Government Area.
 
Unknown gunmen on June 24, killed two policemen and abducting two Lebanese nationals in Onuegbum community.
 
The slain Policemen were attached to Pache Construction Company.
 
The armed gunmen, according to residents who witnessed the incident were eight arrived the community at about 12.20pm through the waterway in two speed boats.
 
The gunmen reportedly besieged the sand dredging site and shot repeatedly into the air to scare people away passersby and other dredging workers in the area who escaped to safety.
 
The two Policemen responded with gun shots, but were killed by lethal shots released by the armed men.
